Foundation Construction Award Level 1 - FCA

 

Foundation Construction Award (FCA)
  • 12-week course through the CITB.
  • This course covers the basic elements of a chosen trade.
  • It will involve the construction of a portfolio and practical tasks.
  • Includes core knowledge test at the end of the course.

FCA Bricklaying

  • Build brick wall
  • Build straight brick wall
  • Run brickwall into line
  • Cut bricks
  • Use access equipment

  • Snagging/Making good
  • Mix and understand the use of different fillers/adhesives
  • Good appreciation of range of tools required for career in dry lining
  • Erect Metal stud partition systems
  • Taping and Jointing
  • Cladding to metal and timber structures
  • Erect and dismantle access equipment
  • Understanding of health and safety at work practices and procedures
