John Laing Training is one of the longest established private construction training providers in the South East of England
A close working partnership with employers, communities, government agencies and local partners, combined with innovative approaches to funding opportunities enable JLT to provide high quality vocational training. All our staff is fully qualified in their trade and are accredited assessors; we work closely with the Constructionskills (CITB) and City & Guilds delivering accredited qualifications.
JLT is employer focused with the aim of delivering flexible responsive training to the construction industry. We have a team of assessors and support staff, who work alongside employers to identify training requirements. We offer a range of construction related National Vocational Qualifications in addition to a wide programme of accredited Health and Safety courses.
With a national drive for all construction companies to be compliant with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) standards. All our services wholly satisfy the benchmark.
JLT deliver accredited construction qualifications to prisoners, on behalf of the Prison Service. This is in response to the Governments strategic review of Prison’s which recommends training as a way of reducing re-offending. The training provides prisoners with the skills and knowledge to motivate them towards sustainable employment on their release and a real opportunity of achieving a life away from crime. With the construction industry indicating a significant shortfall in qualified skilled workers our training provides them with a real opportunity.

Each year, over 1,100 candidates are trained, with over 400 people on courses at any one time.
